Are Your Employees At Risk?
Today in Canada, one in five people are living with a mental
health problem or illness. Mood and anxiety disorders are the most common, affecting
nearly 4 million people.
Notably, the workplace can be a stressful environment that contributes to the rise of mental health problems and illnesses. No workplace is immune from these risks. Hence, our definition of occupational health and safety is no longer limited to the physical.
With at least seven branches of law now emphasizing an employer’s duty to protect, promote and accommodate psychological health and safety needs of workers, the onus to take meaningful action is growing.

Psychological First Aid (PFA PREMIUM) for the Workplace
PROACTIV Resilience Solutions has
adopted a key strategy. We are supporting employers as they work with their employees to
build a psychologically healthy and safe workplace culture. By training a portion of their workforce with Psychological First Aid (PFA) an organization can ensure that
they are watching for potentially at risk employees at all times.
Our 1-day blended workshop was developed by the Canadian Red Cross and includes the latest evidence from the international science community. Learners gain a personal understanding of toxic stress and its effects. They become "lifeguards" who protect the mental, emotional and social wellbeing of others and themselves.
PFA Premium focuses on equipping employees with the LOOK, LISTEN, LINK, LIVE model. It emphasizes the following outcomes:
- Improve workplace psychological health and safety awareness.
- Support the normalization of mental health talk amongst employees.
- Protect the psychological health of employees and increase their resilience.
- Reduce stigma and encourage commitment throughout the organization.
PFA: From Self-Care to Helping Others
Additionally, we adhere to the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace (The Standard) developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada. This is a global meta-analysis of guidelines available to support employers. It is rated the highest both in quality and comprehensiveness of content.
